Back On The Blog

Life has been overwhelming this summer and I have been terrible about updating the blog. Things are starting to settle down and I'm going to try to catch up!

Here are some JULY highlights:
We are at Fairytale Town for friend Skylar's 4th birthday party!

Last Day of StrollerFit

StrollerFit was bought out by a company called Baby Boot Camp. StrollerFit franchise owners all over the country had to make the decision to either convert their businesses to Baby Boot Camp or close down. Our local StrollerFit owner/operator, Wendy, decided to close down. We threw her a surprise party on the last day of StrollerFit to let her know how much we value her and wish her well in her future endeavors.

Our days at StrollerFit were numbered anyway. Owen is a big kid now! No more riding in the stroller for him. All the big kids ride their bikes or scooters along with the mommies during class.

Wendy taking a peek at the memory book we made her. It is filled with pictures and everyone signed it.

Grown-ups Go To Colorado

We traveled to Denver to see friends & family, our first big trip without Owen. Owen did great at his sleepover at Grandpa Russ & Grandma Brenda's house. We did okay too. Everywhere we went we thought, Owen would love this! It was nice to be together and be with other grown-ups too!

We've arrived in Denver and we're exploring the city!

We've decided to tour the Downtown Aquarium

After a day of exploring we connect with our friends, Sonny & Heather, for a yummy dinner at an organic Thai food restaurant

Day 2, more exploring, today we're headed to the Denver Art Museum

Go Giants! We're going to Coors Field to see the Giants play the Rockies

Hello Blue Bear!
Day 3, checking out the Blue Bear at the convention center

Nacen, Aaron, and Sonny
Aaron's older brother, Nacen, joined us for another game at Coors Field! It was great to see him!

Phase 2

We've been house hunting for nearly a year now, made offers on 5 houses, and we have been consistently out bid $15-25k.

Over the weekend it was brought to our attention that if we rented out our current house and showed the rent as income we could qualify for a larger home loan.

We spoke with our loan officer and he said absolutely. Soooooooooooooo

We're Moving!

Phase 2 of our house hunting experience will be moving into a rental home ourselves so we can rent out our house and ultimately qualify for a larger home loan.

A former partner at Aaron's firm owns a home in Elk Grove approximately 6 minutes from our current residence. We asked if he needs tenants and the answer was yes.

Once we are settled I'll update everyone with our new address, etc.

We are very excited for this opportunity and grateful to Jim for his willingness to let us rent his house.

Lorikeets

Last week, Aly and I took the kiddos to Micke Grove Zoo to feed the Lorikeets. The birds are beautifully and vibrantly colored.

We got there right at opening so the lorikeets were hungry and feeling extra friendly toward people with nectar. It didn't take long before they were all over us! Very fun!

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the 4th of July with the V-4. Aly made these super cute shirts for the kids and Jake barbecued some yummy eats. This was the first year we let Owen stay up after dark to see fireworks. He loved it! We all did! It was super fun and reminded me of when I was a little girl.
